Job Summary
Service, maintain, and repair materials handling equipment, including forklifts and construction machinery, while diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and breakdown repairs in workshop and field environments. Install, commission, and test equipment as required, then provide technical support and advice to customers regarding operation and maintenance. Maintain accurate service records, job documentation, and parts usage while ensuring all work is completed safely in accordance with company procedures. Collaborate with other technicians and departments to achieve operational objectives and deliver high-level customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive, Diesel Fitting or a related field preferred
- Experience servicing and repairing forklifts, access equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery advantageous
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current driver's licence
- Forklift licence and other relevant licences/tickets advantageous
