Job Summary
Disassemble, evaluate, repair, and reassemble generators returned to Kato Engineering for refurbishment or warranty. Interface with customers in the field and at the Company, making disposition decisions on parts. Travel 20% to 50% of the time with a Senior Service Technician while using appropriate tools. Perform stator and rotor winding, hookup, assembly, and balance including electrical testing, as well as generator testing and aligning and coupling. Requires eight thousand hours of experience in electrical and mechanical principles. Work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on-site in Mankato, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational or high school graduate
- Formal training program or equivalent on-the-job training
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical sequences
- Must be a sole US citizen
- Must be available for travel from twenty (20) percent to fifty (50) percent of the time
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn stator winding
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn stator hookup
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn electrical testing
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn rotor winding
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn rotor hookup
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn rotor assembly
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn rotor balance
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn electrical testing (balance)
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn assembly of generators
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn testing of generators
- Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn aligning and coupling generators
- Eight thousand (8,000) hours experience
