Job Summary
The Service Technician will independently perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer- and dealer-owned agricultural/outdoor power equipment, with a focus on John Deere equipment. Responsibilities include field diagnostics/repairs, documenting diagnostics and repairs on repair orders, maintaining product knowledge, mentoring Apprentices and junior technicians, and participating in training programs. Requires high school-level education or equivalent, ability to work extended hours/weekends, and proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, tools, Technical Manuals, and basic computer diagnostic tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in John Deere equipment
- Experience using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures
- Ability to diagnose technical issues
- Experience with basic computer functions such as Service Advisor or equivalent
