Job Summary
Independent perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment, with a focus on John Deere equipment. Conduct field repairs as required, document diagnostics and repairs on repair orders, maintain current product knowledge, participate in required training, and uphold safety rules. Responsibilities include mentoring Service Technician Apprentices and junior technicians, ensuring billable time is tracked, and maintaining vehicle, inventory, tools and equipment condition.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in John Deere equipment
- Experience using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures
- Ability to diagnose technical issues
- Experience with basic computer functions such as Service Advisor or equivalent diagnostic tools
- Positive attitude and a desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Mentor/leadership potential or experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians (preferred)
