Job Summary
Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment, including field service and complex maintenance work. Account for billable time by documenting all diagnostics and repairs on repair orders while maintaining current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive offerings. Mentor Service Technician Apprentices and junior technicians, and participate in required training programs to advance skills. Follow all safety rules and regulations while maintaining condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment. Requires basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, experience with special tools and technical manuals, and ability to work extended hours and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of, and experience with, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in John Deere equipment
- Experience using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures
- Ability to diagnose technical issues
- Experience with basic computer functions such as Service Advisor or equivalent computer based diagnostic tools
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
