Job Summary
Service Technician will independently perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and outdoor power equipment, primarily on John Deere equipment. Responsibilities include diagnostics and repairs in the field, documenting diagnostics and repairs on repair orders, maintaining current product knowledge, participating in training, following safety rules, maintaining tools and vehicles, and mentoring apprentices/younger technicians. The role emphasizes customer experience and requires ability to work extended hours/weekends and use diagnostic tools and manuals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in John Deere equipment
- Experience with John Deere equipment and related diagnostics
- Experience with using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures
- Ability to diagnose technical issues
- Experience with basic computer functions such as Service Advisor or equivalent diagnostic tools
- Positive attitude and a desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Mentoring junior technicians and apprentices
