Job Summary
Receive repair order assignments from the Shop Foreman and perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment in a timely and thorough manner. Advise the foreman of recommended service changes and determine if further repairs should be suggested to the customer. Maintain accurate work order records and attend required training sessions while operating power and hand tools safely. Perform additional repairs when equipment is returned due to faulty workmanship. Work the 2nd shift from 3:30pm to midnight in a physically demanding environment involving lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to exhaust fumes and dust. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance
- Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results
- A VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it
- A valid class A or B CDL or the willingness to obtain one
- Paccar, Cummins, and CAT Certifications or willingness to obtain
- Personal motivation and self-reliance
- Desire to be the driver of team success
- Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
- Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for 2nd shift (3:30pm- Midnight)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
