Job Summary
Receives repair order assignments from the Shop Foreman and performs work directed in order, maintaining superior standard of workmanship. Advises the Foreman of recommended service changes and communicates further repair recommendations to the customer. Maintains accurate work order records and attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager. Performs additional repairs when equipment is returned due to faulty workmanship. Requires a minimum of five years' experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair, a valid Class A or B CDL, and willingness to obtain Paccar, Cummins, and CAT certifications. Works the 2nd shift from 3:30 pm to midnight in Harrisonburg, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance
- Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results
- A VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it
- A valid class A or B CDL or the willingness to obtain one
- Paccar, Cummins, and CAT Certifications or willingness to obtain
- Personal motivation and self-reliance
- Desire to be the driver of team success
- Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
- Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for 3:30pm- Midnight schedule
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
