Job Summary
Install new HVAC units, piping systems, coils, compressors, and combustion equipment, including brazing, line set trimming, and refrigerant charging. Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning on RTUs, air handlers, and VAVs. Execute preventative maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, cleaning, filtering, and oiling. Test lines and components for leaks, repairing defective joints with soldering as necessary. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment
- current Universal CFC certification
- Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring
- Strong oral and written communication
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas
- Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments
- Valid Driver's license
- able to maintain a good driving record
- Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
