Job Summary
Maintain day-to-day operations of Fairstead properties by performing preventative maintenance and repairs, inspecting buildings and equipment, verifying electrical systems and safety devices, and supporting on-call emergency maintenance. Execute maintenance policies to prevent property misuse, prepare vacated spaces for new occupants, and manage inventory of supplies and tools. Requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, general maintenance skills, effective verbal and written communication, prior service technician experience, and preferred HVAC/CMRP certification. Emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and responsive problem resolution to ensure safe, well-maintained apartment communities.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures
- Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs
- General maintenance skills
- Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information
- Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role
- HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance
- Dexterity and attention to detail
