Job Summary
Service Technician performs basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment, including AMS products. Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products, participates in Service EDUCATE training, ensures proper condition of vehicles and tools, adheres to safety rules, completes required reports and time/material tracking, and works in varied environments. Requires 1+ years of service repair experience, the ability to follow Technical Manual procedures, proficiency with mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, and a valid driver’s license; associates degree preferred. Forklift license preferred and strong communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
- Valid drivers license is required
- Forklift license preferred
- Works in environment inside and outside all temperatures
- Physical requirements other than lifting include bending, squatting, hand dexterity, climbing 6-13 feet
