Job Summary
Service Technician at Canadian Solar (Ottawa, Ontario) responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) and fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements for Battery Energy Storage System projects. Requires willingness to travel across Ontario, with on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment, supervise subcontractors when needed, and ensure warranty requirements are met. Requires an Electrical Engineering background (or related discipline), at least 2 years in a service environment, knowledge of medium voltage power systems and energy storage applications, CMMS experience preferred, and strong communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering degree
- 2+ years in a service environment
- knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
- experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
