Job Summary
Service Technician responsible for commissioning and preventive/corrective maintenance of SolBank Storage Power Block (BESS) across Ontario project sites; performs on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and support, oversees subcontractors, enforces Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures, analyzes performance data for root cause and performance trends, and assists in developing standard operating procedures, while traveling to project sites as required. Requires Electrical Engineering background, 2+ years in a service environment (renewable energy preferred), knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, PV or energy storage applications, CMMS experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 2 years' of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
- Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
- Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
