Service Technician

Job Summary

Meet with the Service Manager daily to review service requests, make readies, and required repairs. Execute regular and preventative maintenance programs, identify and resolve issues related to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, A/C, and heating systems. Complete service requests ensuring code compliance, including make-ready checklists within five business days for resident move-ins. Walk and inspect the community daily to ensure standards are met, report unsafe conditions immediately, and maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities. Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, and work on-call shifts to assist with resident and property emergencies. Submit appropriate paperwork and reports timely and accurately while assisting with special projects and capital improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Six (6) months of work experience or training in maintenance
  • Previous work experience in multi-family property maintenance
  • Working knowledge of and experience in drywall, electrical, carpentry, flooring, plumbing, painting, appliances, HVAC, and lock change
  • Experience in capital improvement projects and remodeling
  • HVAC type 1 and type 2 certifications
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Innovative approach to problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as city, state, and federal codes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • General computer skills
  • Ability to work varying hours and promptly respond to emergency situations
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in multi-family property maintenance
  • Experience in capital improvement projects and remodeling
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Entrata software and/or other Property Management and supplemental maintenance software solutions
