Job Summary
Disassemble, assemble, and test pressure relief and safety relief valves according to ASME, NBIC, and API codes while analyzing problems to select corrective actions. Read schematics and blueprint drawings to determine specification procedures, working within close tolerances to ensure product quality and avoid rejection. Apply knowledge of bolt torquing and use measurement devices like Vernier calipers in a fast-paced shop or customer-owned facility environment. Work independently or in teams to meet critical deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Degree or 2+ years of valve repair, testing, reconditioning or modification experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in both independent and team settings
- Ability to use measurement devices such as Vernier calipers
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work towards continuous improvement of output, quality and delivery
- Knowledgeable in bolt torquing
- Ability to work in a shop atmosphere and outside in customer-owned facilities, i.e. Refineries, Chemical and Petrochemical Plants, Power Plants and Pipeline and Compressor Station facilities
