Job Summary
Diagnose and repair fire and EMS vehicles, performing routine maintenance, road tests, and preventative services across shop and customer sites. Process and track repair orders while documenting all work on daily computer systems. Monitor communications for off-site assistance requests and instruct on safety protocols within the shop and field. Ensure shop cleanliness and verify that all repairs meet proper standards. Available for emergency repairs after hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call duties and potential overtime. Requires a Class B CDL license and EVT certification within one year.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years mechanical repair and maintenance work
- Class B CDL Driver's License
- Must obtain Class B CDL Driver's License within 6 months of hire date
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification
- Must obtain Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification within 1 year of hire date
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must pass physical
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must pass MVR check
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must have own tools
- Available to perform emergency repair work after hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
