Job Summary
Service Technician – Level 1 responsible for basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment; reports to Service Manager. Requires following Technical Manual procedures, maintaining tools and equipment, communicating with customers about work performed, participating in training, staying current on John Deere and competitive products, and adhering to safety rules. Must be able to perform repairs with proper tools, maintain a clean work area, and complete required reports; overtime and on-call may be required. Prior experience in ag, off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment is preferred, with training provided for the right candidate. Forklift license is preferred or obtainable. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; background checks and drug screening required prior to start. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass driving record background checks
- Drug screen before start of employment
- Forklift license preferred or ability to obtain one
- Experience in service repairs preferred
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems preferred
- John Deere equipment knowledge a plus
- Willingness to train and learn
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service orientation
