Job Summary

Perform maintenance tasks including appliance checks, plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, and pool upkeep to ensure resident health, safety, and comfort. Expediting service requests and maintaining excellent public relations for the corporation and community. Handle make-readies, minor electrical fixes, lock changes, and grounds maintenance such as litter collection and snow removal. This role requires on-call availability for emergencies and evening or weekend work. Must possess a cell phone, HVAC/EPA certification, and two years of relevant apartment maintenance experience. Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to resident interaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents
  • Must possess cell phone
  • HVAC / EPA certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
  • Be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest
  • Must be willing and able to learn new maintenance technologies
  • Present self in a neat, clean and professional manner at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively as a dependable member of a professional maintenance team
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively on an independent basis
  • Must possess excellent human relation skills: tenant interaction is required
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to shovel snow and ice
  • Must be able to move appliances
  • Must be able to work with a variety of equipment
  • Must be able to work in all kinds of weather
  • Must be able to comply with expectations as demonstrated in the Employee Handbook
  • Must be able to work on call as reasonably necessary to lease and deal with maintenance emergencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Renovation or on large projects
  • General education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer minimum two years' experience in general apartment maintenance
  • Certification in one or more maintenance specialties: plumbing, refrigeration, etc.
  • Preferred one or more maintenance specialty certifications
