Job Summary
Check appliance operations, repair minor electrical and plumbing issues, and maintain HVAC systems. Backwash filters, vacuum, and manage chemical levels for pool maintenance. Repair balconies, doors, flooring, and fences; replace drywall and paint walls. Collect litter, clear snow and ice, and assist groundskeepers. Expedite service requests and maintain supplies inventory. Work evenings and weekends with on-call responsibilities for maintenance emergencies. Must possess a cell phone and EPA, CPO, and HVAC certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents
- Must possess cell phone
- EPA certification
- CPO Certification
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
- Be able to work evenings and weekends
- Mechanical aptitude and interest
- Must be willing and able to learn new maintenance technologies
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively as a dependable member of a professional maintenance team
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively on an independent basis
- Must possess excellent human relation skills: tenant interaction is required
- Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to shovel snow and ice
- Must be able to move appliances
- Must be able to work with a variety of equipment
- Must be able to work in all kinds of weather
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of a multifamily housing complex maintenance role
Desired Qualifications
- General education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Prefer minimum two years' experience in general apartment maintenance
- Certification in one or more maintenance specialties: plumbing, refrigeration, etc
- Preferred one or more maintenance specialty certifications
- HVAC Certification preferred
