Job Summary
Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostic tests, and complex wiring repairs to troubleshoot heavy-duty trucks and restore them to proper operating condition. Perform advanced repairs including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and major component replacements such as radiators and turbos. Execute routine preventative maintenance services, identify worn parts, and maintain organized work areas while adhering to safety, EPA, and state regulations. Verify vehicle performance through test drives and adjust controls and systems. Maintain accurate vehicle records by annotating all services and repairs using diagnostic software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classes
- Must have own hand tools
- Highly proficient in the repair and diagnosis of all aspects of commercial trucks; such as diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts & differentials; electrical systems, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakes
- High expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic software
- Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner
- Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements
Desired Qualifications
- OEM Master Tech certifications & Cummins training preferred
- CDL license preferred but not required
