Job Summary
Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostic tests, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks to troubleshoot issues and restore vehicles to proper operating condition. Perform routine services including oil and transmission changes, replace worn components, and utilize diagnostic software for charging systems, brakes, and suspensions. Maintain vehicle records, complete test drives to verify performance, and adhere to safety and EPA regulations while meeting shop quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-6 years of practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classes
- Able to perform preventative maintenance services such as oil & transmission changes, replacement of light body components and lights & sensors, etc.
- Proficient in the repair and diagnosis of: diesel engines; interior & exterior cab components, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakes
- Proficient in use of all tools of trade
- Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
- Ability to provide a detailed written analysis and computer input of the three C's (complaint, cause, correction) as well as details on any repairs
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner
- Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements
Desired Qualifications
- CDL license preferred but not required
