Job Summary
Service Technician 1 responsible for preparing vacant apartments for occupancy and providing quality maintenance services to residents. Duties include painting, drywall repairs, electrical/plumbing/heating system repairs, carpentry, interior/exterior painting, flooring repairs, completing resident service requests, preventative maintenance, pool maintenance (chemical balance), grounds maintenance, PPE usage, and communicating with residents, vendors, and management. Role requires independent work, time-management, reliability, safety adherence, on-call rotation, and ability to travel between properties using a personal vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience required
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs preferred
- Solid mechanical aptitude required
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
- Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
- EPA certification desired
- Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basis
- Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
- Experienced in Microsoft products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programs

- Prompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times
- Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
- Ability to work overtime as requested
- Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
- Working knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organized
- Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
- Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation, at all times
- Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work
