Job Summary
Service Technician 1 responsible for preparing vacant apartments for occupancy and performing maintenance and repair tasks across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and flooring. Tasks include painting, drywall repairs, trash-out, repairing systems, conducting preventative maintenance, housekeeping of common areas, and assisting with property improvements. Requires independent work, time-management, attention to detail, customer service to residents, vendors, and staff, ability to operate in various weather conditions, and willingness to participate in on-call rotations. Proficient in coordinating with vendors, using company apps, and maintaining logs, with preference for EPA certification and experience with Yardi/Paycom.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience required
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs preferred
- Solid mechanical aptitude required
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, HVAC systems
- EPA certification desired
- Able to work overtime as requested
- Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
- Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work
- Willing and able to be assigned to other properties as needed
- English language required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programs
