Job Summary
Service Technician 1 role requires a multi-faceted maintenance professional to prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and deliver timely service to residents. Responsibilities include painting, drywall repairs, plumbing and electrical maintenance, and preventative maintenance tasks. Candidates should have over a year of maintenance experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift substantial weight, while providing excellent customer service. The position also necessitates knowledge in building systems and requires participation in an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience required
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs preferred
- Solid mechanical aptitude required
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
- Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures
- Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
- Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
- Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired
Desired Qualifications
- EPA certification desired
- Experienced in Microsoft products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience preferred; willing and able to learn new software programs
Additional Requirements
- Must utilize Weidner issued cell phone and specified apps as part of your daily role
- Must use personal vehicle to go between properties as assigned during work hours
- Must take part in the on-call rotation, as scheduled
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Prompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times
- Ability to work overtime as requested
- Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
