Job Summary
Community Technician 1 performs maintenance and preparation tasks for vacant and occupied apartments, including painting, drywall repairs, electrical/plumbing/heating-hvac/system repairs, carpentry, flooring, and general upkeep. Responsibilities include completing daily work orders and unit turns, assisting residents and vendors, coordinating with property leadership, maintaining safety and PPE protocols, and supporting property improvements. Must be able to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather, travel between properties using a personal vehicle, participate in on-call rotations, and pass background/drug checks; experience with maintenance software (e.g., Yardi, Paycom) and basic Microsoft products is preferred. The role emphasizes timely service, attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork to uphold Weidner’s quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience required
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs preferred
- Solid mechanical aptitude required
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kg, climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
- EPA certification desired
- Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance valid and match country of work
- Access to personal vehicle for property travel
- English language proficiency
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather
- Team player and customer-service oriented
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
