Job Summary
Service Technician 1 maintains and prepares vacant and occupied apartments, performing painting, drywall repairs, electrical/plumbing/hot water heater/HVAC maintenance, carpentry and flooring tasks, and routine resident service requests. The role requires independent work, time management, attention to detail, customer service with residents/vendors, on-call rotation, and ability to travel between properties using a personal vehicle. Proficiency with standard software (MS Office), and familiarity with property-management tools (Weidner systems, Yardi, Paycom) are preferred. The position emphasizes preventive maintenance, safety, and adherence to policies and local/federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience required
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs preferred
- Solid mechanical aptitude required
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
- Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
- Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
- EPA certification desired
- Willing and able to learn new software programs
- Working knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organized
