Job Summary

Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy by painting, repairing drywall, and addressing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues. Execute daily maintenance requests for residents while performing system repairs on HVAC, boilers, and appliances. Conduct detailed carpentry, flooring work, and pool maintenance including chemical balancing and logkeeping. Manage preventative maintenance schedules, grounds upkeep, and snow removal as assigned. Utilize Weidner apps and a personal vehicle to travel between properties, adhering to the on-call rotation. Complete tasks safely with moderate supervision, maintaining professional communication with residents, vendors, and team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 + years maintenance experience
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms
  • Able to climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
  • Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
  • Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Detail oriented
  • Well organized
  • Must agree to a criminal background check
  • Willing and able to sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
  • Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
  • Driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired
  • Must be able to lift 80 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs
  • Must be able to push/pull 200 pounds
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to be on feet constantly
  • Must be able to work overtime as requested
  • Must be willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties
  • Must comply with all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal laws
  • Must wear company dress code/uniform
  • Must maintain professional appearance
  • Must work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
  • Must have prompt, regular attendance

Desired Qualifications

  • 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs
  • EPA certification
  • Experienced in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Yardi and Paycom experience
  • Willing and able to learn new software programs
  • Strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basis
  • Ability to manage their time effectively
