Job Summary
Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy by painting, repairing drywall, and addressing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues. Perform daily maintenance requests for residents and conduct system repairs on HVAC, boilers, and appliances. Execute detailed carpentry, flooring work, and pool maintenance including chemical balancing and log tracking. Manage daily grounds tasks such as trash removal, pet waste disposal, and snow removal. Utilize company apps, a personal vehicle, and an on-call rotation to support properties across the portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms
- Able to climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
- Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
- Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
- Working knowledge of English
- Detail oriented
- Well organized
- Prompt, regular attendance
- Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
- Must agree to a criminal background check
- Must sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
- Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
- Driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired
- Must be able to use Weidner issued cell phone and specified apps
- Must use personal vehicle to go between properties as assigned during work hours
- Must take part in the on-call rotation
- Must comply with all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal laws
- Must follow Weidner's Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures
- Must wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times
- Ability to work overtime as requested
Desired Qualifications
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs
- EPA certification
- Experienced in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience
- Willing and able to learn new software programs
