Job Summary
Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy by painting, drywall repair, trash removal, and executing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Perform basic system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, and appliances, including detailed carpentry and flooring work. Conduct daily maintenance requests for residents while managing preventative maintenance, pool cleaning, chemical monitoring, and grounds upkeep such as snow removal and pet waste disposal. Utilize Weidner-issued cell phones and apps, travel between properties using a personal vehicle, and participate in the on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + years maintenance experience
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms
- Able to climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
- Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
- Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
- Working knowledge of English
- Detail oriented
- Well organized
- Must agree to a criminal background check
- Sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
- Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
- Driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired
- Able to work overtime as requested
- Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
- Prompt, regular attendance
- Wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance
- Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
Desired Qualifications
- 1 + years of painting and drywall repairs
- EPA certification
- Experienced in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Yardi and Paycom experience
- Willingness and ability to learn new software programs
