Service Technician - $1,500 Sign-on Bonus (39113)

Job Summary

Check appliance operations, repair minor electrical and plumbing issues, and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, and heating units. Backwash pool filters, vacuum pools, and manage chemical levels. Perform carpentry on balconies, doors, and flooring; paint walls and ceilings; and conduct grounds maintenance including snow removal and litter collection. Expedite service requests and maintain supplies inventory while ensuring resident safety and comfort. This on-call role requires working evenings and weekends in all weather conditions. You must possess two years of relevant maintenance experience, mechanical aptitude, and excellent tenant interaction skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (HVAC, Turn Tech, plumbing, electrical and CPO)
  • Proven experience in supporting a team including renovation projects
  • Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents
  • Must possess cell phone
  • Be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively as a dependable member of a professional maintenance team
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively on an independent basis
  • Must possess excellent human relation skills: tenant interaction is required
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest are specifically required
  • Must be willing and able to learn new maintenance technologies
  • Present self in a neat, clean and professional manner at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community
  • Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the Employee Handbook
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to shovel snow and ice
  • Must be able to move appliances
  • Must be able to work with a variety of equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations
  • Must be able to work as a reasonably necessary on call member for lease and maintenance emergencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Renovation or on large projects is preferred
  • General education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Prefer minimum two years' experience in general apartment maintenance
  • Certification in one or more maintenance specialties: plumbing, refrigeration, etc
  • Prefer one or more maintenance specialty certifications
  • HVAC / EPA certification preferred
  • CPO Certification preferred
