Job Summary
Lead diesel shed operations and provide technical guidance to senior technicians on 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotive maintenance. Plan and execute all work to achieve best performance levels, ensuring scheduled, unscheduled, heavy maintenance, and wreck repairs follow laid-down procedures, timelines, costs, and quality standards. Enforce safe, environmentally friendly practices and compliance with local regulations and customer safety policies across the entire shed. Manage teams in a shop environment while utilizing IT tools for planning and execution. Requires 12+ years in locomotive maintenance, 24x7 shift availability, and ability to analyze performance data.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering or applicable technical training
- 12+ years applicable operations experience in maintenance of Locomotives, and/or transportation/rolling stock equipment
- Willingness to work in 24x7 operations - different shifts, various days
- Experience/exposure to IT tools for the purposes of planning and executing work
- Ability lead teams in a shop environment
- Good communication skills with aptitude for managing teams & multiple functional stakeholders
- Prior experience in the transportation industry
Desired Qualifications
- Work experience of managing diesel locomotive / rolling stock maintenance shed
- Technically proficient in understanding and maintaining locomotive system level and sub-systems level
- Ability to analyze locomotive performance data, records, reports including loco self-test data
- Should be capable to adopt and effectively implement IT systems related to monitoring & maintaining Locomotives
- Ability to promote safe & environmentally compliant work practices
