Job Summary
Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines, including all work associated with gas compressor revamps. Assist the service manager with supervisory duties and supervise or motivate others. Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining a professional appearance and promoting good welfare among divisions. Ensure all jobs are completed proficiently and safely, protecting company assets. Maintain good client relations and stay informed of the latest changes in equipment models. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with weekend hours as necessary. Outside work and travel to customer locations as required, including overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year(s) previous experience
- G.E.D. High School Diploma
- Service Tech Class A
- advance troubleshooting skills
- working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
- meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
- conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
- current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle
- pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation
- computer literate
- dependable and able to work independently
- able to lift 50 pounds
- able to bend and twist several times a day
- ability to work flexible hours and days
- ability to travel and stay overnight
- ability to supervise and motivate others
- ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
- ability to obtain advanced manufacture certifications
- protect the company assets and interests
- Must be able to work alone on engine/compressor packages or engine/generator packages and be professional on their assignments
- Understands engine electric controls
- Understands engine governing systems including electronic controls
- Can perform all work associated with gas compressor revamp
- Ensure that all jobs are completed and that the work was done in a proficient and safe manner
- Promote good welfare among the company and its' divisions
- Must maintain good client relations
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
Desired Qualifications
- prefer applied certification (s) job description
- Certification in WED VHP technology and VGF technology preferred
- a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
