Service Team Leader

Job Summary
Plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations within various departments of the store. Serves as the mentor and coach for all team members. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards. Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is being delivered. Promotes staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs; provides career development paths, identifies development needs, and participates in promotion decisions. Oversees disciplinary actions, potential discharge recommendations, and ensures training across roles; manages P&L and shrink targets; fosters a safe work environment and adheres to Meijer policies and diversity commitments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 2-3 years of related retail experience
- One year of management experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information
