Job Summary
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, then operate refuse trucks to collect refuse, recyclables, yard waste, and bulk waste. Clean, deliver, and assemble containers, conduct preventive maintenance and routine cleaning, and assist with snow removal operations. Provide excellent customer service and complete related duties as assigned while reading maps and understanding city geography. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years of relevant experience or completion of an apprenticeship/internship
- Ability to obtain a valid Missouri Class B CDL with airbrakes
- Knowledge of solid waste collection methods and equipment
- Understanding of departmental procedures and safety regulations
- Ability to read maps and understand city geography
- Skill in operating refuse trucks and troubleshooting basic vehicle issues
- Ability to complete assigned routes efficiently and safely
