Job Summary
Direct the daily flow of vehicles through the shop, prioritizing workload by matching tasks to technician skill sets and shop capacity. Mentor and coach a team of technicians, providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and delivering hands-on training to elevate technical capabilities. Act as the operational hub by coordinating with Parts, Service Advisors, and support teams to eliminate bottlenecks before they occur. Rigorously monitor repair quality and cycle time, ensuring every vehicle meets exacting standards and is returned on schedule. Analyze key performance indicators to make data-informed decisions for operational improvements and enforce the highest standards of safety and organization. Serve as the key escalation point for complex technical or logistical challenges, resolving issues with urgency and precision.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume automotive service environment (e.g., Shop Foreman, Production Manager, or Lead Dispatcher)
- Deep technical acumen across modern vehicle systems, including high-voltage, electrical, mechanical, and infotainment domains
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles or workflow optimization in a service or production setting
- Strong proficiency with digital tools, including dealership management systems (DMS), repair order tracking, and diagnostic software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of written and spoken English
- Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics
- Up to 27% travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or other recognized high school equivalency credential preferred
