Job Summary
Plumber (Hampton/Newport News) responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of domestic water systems, water heating, sanitary sewer, storm water systems, gas piping (threaded and fusion welded), following IPC/UPC and local codes. Requires 5 years of service-plumbing experience and eligibility to obtain a Journeyman license within 12 months. Daily activities include reading plans, coordinating with project managers, estimating time and costs, responding to emergencies (including after hours), and performing preventative maintenance. Must operate a range of plumbing tools and equipment, manage time, travel between properties (including overnight), and maintain records. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a service plumber
- Journeyman’s Plumbing license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel between properties including overnight travel
- Knowledge of IPC, UPC, and local plumbing codes
- Experience with drain cleaning, sewer cameras, and related plumbing tools
- Proficient reading of building plans and installation according to specifications
- Comfortable with manual labor in various environments
- Strong teamwork and ability to work independently
