Job Summary
Entry-level Service Mechanic Laborer for Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel's Apprentice Program in Scranton (Jessup), PA. Assist technicians on trailer-related jobs, perform tasks safely and efficiently per DOT/OSHA standards, unload materials, operate a forklift for stacking/decking trailers, and wash trailers using power washer and brushes. After 90 days, eligible for consideration into the Mechanic Apprentice Program, with a defined training path to attain Mechanic C, then B, then A over approximately three years, provided ongoing performance and training requirements are met. Benefits include health/dental/vision, paid vacation, disability and life insurance, 401k with profit-sharing, and other programs. Must be able to work overtime and pass pre-employment drug test and physical.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test and physical
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- A current driver’s license- no moving violations for past 3 years is a plus
- Forklift experience a plus, will provide training
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Must adhere to all company policies including safety policies
- Knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies a plus
