Job Summary

Service Manager responsible for mentoring the service team and overseeing maintenance for the community, ensuring maintenance tasks such as make-readies, inspections, and repairs (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting) are completed to Weidner standards; collaborates with the Community Director to support financial performance and asset value; ensures customer service excellence for residents, associates, and vendors; manages on-site payroll and overtime, vendor relationships, inventory, and documentation; participates in on-call rotations and may be assigned to other Weidner properties; requires strong mechanical aptitude, supervisory experience, and knowledge of building systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years maintenance experience
  • Prior management experience desired
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms, climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
  • Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kilograms
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
  • HVAC, CPO, EPA certification desired
  • Industry designations, CAMT desired
  • Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basis
  • Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
  • Experienced in Microsoft products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Yardi, HappyCo and Paycom experience preferred; Willing and able to learn new software programs
  • Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures as well as all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal laws
  • Prompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times
  • Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
  • Ability to work overtime as requested
  • Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
  • Working knowledge of English; detail oriented, well organized
  • Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
  • Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation, at all times
  • Driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired at all times and match the country in which associate will work
