Job Summary
Service Manager in Bangor, ME is responsible for leading a VIP automotive service team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, hire and develop staff, ensure safety, compliance, and efficient operation of the service department. Responsibilities include building a high-performing team, coordinating training (LMS, vendor, ASE certifications), scheduling to meet customer needs, overseeing dispatch of work orders, maintaining facility and equipment, enforcing ethics and regulatory compliance, and communicating with management to uphold service standards. Requires strong leadership, verbal and written communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and relevant ASE certifications; minimum two years of automotive service management experience; additional education recommended (two-year college/technical school). Must possess a valid driver’s license and applicable certifications; role is exempt and typically involves a five-day work week with 50 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
