Job Summary
Oversee Service Department operations at the Rutland, VT branch to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability. Responsibilities include assigning repairs and work areas based on technician skills, ensuring timely completion and invoicing of service orders, handling elevated customer issues, leading regular cross-departmental meetings, developing and executing Service Department policies, forecasting branch goals aligned with financial objectives, and driving the department’s strategic and marketing plans. Also responsible for staff hiring, training, performance evaluations, and delivering disciplinary actions when needed; ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order; identifying new customer and business opportunities; maintaining a professional facility appearance and promoting a positive community reputation. Requires ability to work varying shifts (including weekends/holidays or on-call as needed), travel for customer service and training, forklift certification, and a valid driver’s license; strong teamwork, communication, and financial acumen are essential. Education is a high school diploma or GED; preferred experience in the equipment industry or service is a plus.
