Job Summary
Oversee all service department operations, including dispatching, inventory, billing, payroll, and productivity to ensure an efficient, profitable department. Develop technicians through in-house training, conduct work inspections, and provide technical guidance for heating equipment installation and repair. Achieve budgeted billable hours and profitability while resolving customer concerns and negotiating with suppliers to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Coordinate technician dispatch, analyze productivity reports, and evaluate performance using the Performance Scorecard. Conduct monthly safety meetings, oversee vehicle maintenance, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules for petroleum equipment. Manage a workforce of technicians and administrative managers to set high standards for customer relations, safety, and corporate image.
Required Qualifications
- A high school education
- A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
- A knowledge of petroleum products, equipment and service
- Appropriate oil burner and/or propane licenses
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Planning and scheduling skills
- Leadership skills
- Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Analytical skills
- Ability to move very heavy objects weighing more than one hundred pounds
