Job Summary
The Service Manager II (SMII) role in Augusta, ME, is a salary-exempt position focused on developing into a future Service Manager by leading a VIP automotive service team, ensuring safety and compliance, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and executing VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a superior team, ensuring LMS and vendor training completion, maintaining proper certification (ASE C1, P2, G1 when applicable), scheduling to meet customer needs across all hours, communicating effectively, guiding dispatch of work orders to technicians via the first-available approach, conducting regular training and coaching, maintaining facility and equipment, ensuring Code of Ethics and regulatory compliance, and performing additional duties as needed. The role involves interacting with management, serving as policy administrator at the location, and achieving targets through daily/weekly/monthly reporting; typical work week is five days with at least 50 hours. The environment is an indoor service department with exposure to weather and chemicals, and physical requirements include lifting up to 21 lbs and various visual and stamina demands.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1– Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
