Job Summary
Lead and supervise the Service Department to maintain a high standard of workmanship; oversee the lifecycle of work orders from opening to billing; coordinate equipment pick-up/delivery for local and field assignments; act as primary contact for customers, explaining quotes and adjustments; recruit and develop service staff; serve as Site Safety Coordinator; manage shop inventory and procurement; monitor customer satisfaction with in-person follow-ups; collaborate with manufacturers on warranty claims and technical issues; stay current on OEM programs and technical updates; assist in service-based marketing initiatives; contribute to achieving shop goals and performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree or college certificate plus three to five years of relevant experience; four-year degree is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification
- Strong leadership and project-management abilities
- Experience in heavy equipment service
- Proficiency with service-management software and standard office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with administrative accuracy in work order management
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate with manufacturers on warranty claims and technical issues
- Field and shop coordination experience
