Job Summary
Remote Patient Account Representative responsible for end-to-end revenue cycle activities, including follow-up on insurance claims, remittance reviews, dispute management, and payer communications. Requires 1-4 years of medical claims/hospital collections experience, solid communication skills, and proficiency with hospital billing systems and MS Office to resolve accounts accurately and efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- 1-4 years medical claims and/or hospital collections experience
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business administration or accounting preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn hospital systems: ACE, VI Web, IMaCS, OnDemand
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid claim processes and collections
- Familiarity with UB04 and HCFA 1500 claim forms
- Ability to research accounts, document notes, and resolve issues with payors and/or patients
- Experience reviewing contracts and requesting re-bills or corrected bills; secondary billing
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize and meet productivity targets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; adapt to changing assignments
- Compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations for managed care and third-party payors
- Ability to access and navigate payer websites
Desired Qualifications
- Some college coursework in business administration or accounting (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid insurance (preferred)
- Call center environment experience (preferred)
- Experience with hospital/medical billing and accounts receivable aging trends (preferred)
