Job Summary
Assist in the installation and repair of roofs on commercial structures by aligning materials, applying hot asphalt or tar, removing shingles, and preparing surfaces. Carry roofing bundles up ladders, load shingles via truck or manually, and clean job areas of debris. Perform additional duties including metal fabrication assistance, gutter installation, leak patching, and tile inspection. Work as part of a team under a supervisor or foreman direction while maintaining safety protocols. Operate a company truck to and from job sites. This hourly, non-exempt role requires a high school diploma, one year of roofing experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 1+ year of commercial high and low slope roofing experience or interest in high and low slope roofing
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise, odors, fumes, temperature fluctuations and other conditions associated with the roofing industries
- Vision abilities to include: distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral. Also the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to adjust focus
- Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- High ethical standards, honesty, integrity and professionalism
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SP (EPDM, TPO, PVC), BUR, foam, shingle, tile and metal roofing systems preferred
- Completion of an apprenticeship program preferred
