Job Summary
Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of roofs on commercial structures by aligning materials, applying hot asphalt or tar, and removing shingles. Carry roofing bundles up ladders, clean job areas of debris, and locate leaks to apply patches. Operate a company truck to and from job sites and provide assistance with metal fabrication and gutter installations. Work as part of a team under the direction of a supervisor or foreman, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and maintaining a clean worksite. This hourly, non-exempt position reports directly to a Superintendent.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 1+ year of commercial high and low slope roofing experience or interest in high and low slope roofing
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise, odors, fumes, temperature fluctuations and other conditions associated with the roofing industries
- Vision abilities to include: distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral. Also the ability to adjust focus
- Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SP (EPDM, TPO, PVC), BUR, foam, shingle, tile and metal roofing systems preferred
- Completion of an apprenticeship program preferred
