Job Summary
Foreman leads technicians in a busy truck-service shop, mentoring technicians, monitoring workloads, and overseeing shop-floor operations for efficiency, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include conducting weekly huddles, ensuring compliance with company and OEM policies, providing technical training and updates, utilizing the Dealer Management System to monitor active repairs, coordinating with Service Admin and Service Dispatcher to minimize delays, and communicating with customers requiring technical expertise. The role requires strong leadership, interpersonal communication, customer service, time management, coaching skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality work. The position is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, in Morton, IL, with a pay range of $55,061.76–$82,592.64 per year and incentive eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional trade school and/or factory OEM technical training
- Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements
- Class A CDL with air brake endorsement is highly preferred
- 10+ years of DTNA experience
- Demonstrated heavy-duty, hands-on technical experience in a truck dealership or independent shop setting with knowledge of heavy-duty truck repair methods is a plus
- HVAC certification
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a strong personal conviction of producing quality work
- Fundamental welding and fabrication skills; advanced skills are a plus
- Resourceful, collaborative team leader with the ability to also thrive in fast-paced situations
- Familiarity with Elite Support or other lean management principles strongly encouraged
- Candidates must have their own tools; TCI provides specialty and OEM-required tooling for on-site, communal use
- Ability to repeatedly and safely lift up to 70 lbs. unassisted
- Must participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen
