Job Summary
Power Systems Service Field Tech responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and maintaining low, medium and high voltage electrical systems (up to 500 kV), testing switchgear and circuit breakers, repairing transformers and related equipment (45 KVA to 130 MVA, dry-type and oil-filled), performing startup and data collection, operating high voltage test equipment (Doble PF sets), and responding to customer emergencies on a rotating on-call basis. Roles span Sr. Service Field Tech responsibilities with mentoring/leading Level I-III techs as directed. Must adhere to electrical safety procedures and regulatory standards (NETA, NEC, NFPA, OSHA). Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills are required; travel up to 50% with potential relocation assistance available. Location: Charlotte, NC; full-time, eligible for overtime, with compensation between $36 and $65 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED and minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA.
