Job Summary
Lead technician overseeing two or more Service Technicians; performs diagnosis and repair of heavy equipment, fabricates/modifies/installs replacement parts using mills, lathes, welders, plasma cutter, and metal saws; troubleshoots malfunctions, services and repairs drive axles, hydraulics, transmissions, engines, and hydraulic/electrical systems; trains lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques; maintains safety and quality standards; requires HS diploma or equivalent (trade-school preferred), 3+ years in construction/mining machinery, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to pass drug/alcohol testing; typical work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with potential weekend hours; located in Tomball, TX (US).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction and mining machinery industry
- working knowledge of tools and equipment used in repair of machinery and engines
- ability to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing as outlined by policy
- ability to lift 50 pounds and work bending/twisting
- current driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- ability to read manuals and schematics, rebuild engines and driveline components
- ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- good communication with other mechanics and client relations
- must be dependable and able to work independently
- typical Monday-Friday hours 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with weekend hours as necessary
