Job Summary
Create quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements by developing detailed scopes, system sketches, and preliminary proposals for Account Managers. Calculate cost estimates for materials, sub-contractors, equipment, and labor while taking off purchased equipment to ensure accuracy in quantity and configuration. Identify cost-saving opportunities and risk items, then negotiate vendor prices and develop sub-contractor scopes. Lead job pre-bid meetings to review strategy and maintain competitive advantage through current industry standards. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to work overtime, and experience with construction and HVAC systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' related estimating experience
- Minimum five (5) years HVAC Technician experience
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions) in the previous 3 years
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc.
- Preferred experience with financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget
- Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail
- Experience working directly with building owners
